Gabriel Union is suing two half-wits on the grounds of “embarrassment and humiliation” for posting a fraudulent Craigslist Assistant ad on her behalf.
Actress Gabrielle Union is suing two men for invasion of privacy, after they posted a bogus job ad seeking an assistant for her. The two Georgia-based defendants are alleged to have advertised the job on Craigslist.com, claiming they were acting on Union's behalf. Union says she doesn't know the men and was unaware of their actions.
The lawsuit claims Calvin High and Steve Raymond subjected Union to "embarrassment and humiliation" by putting out the advert for a vacancy that doesn't exist, reports TMZ.
The suit was filed in a Georgia district court last Friday. It also names 'John Does 1-10' alongside High and Raymond, because Union's lawyers Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, LLC, claim the acts were committed "in conjunction with and/or with the help of several other individuals who are unknown... at this time".
"At least one individual responded to the advertisement for the position... and subsequently contacted Ms. Union directly inquiring about the advertisement." Union claims to have suffered "severe emotional distress" as a result of the prank, and is seeking damages for the hoax.
Gabrielle Union was recently announced as an addition to the cast of "Cadillac Records," The Etta James biopic starring Beyonce Knowles. Rapper/actor Mos Def is another addition to the cast; he will portray music legend Chuck Berry.
